A silver tetradrachm or drachm of Alexander III, minted between 315 -294 BC, probably in Amphipolis. Obverse: Head of Herakles right in a lion skin headress. Reverse: Zeus seated left holding an eagle and sceptre, monogram of alpha and gamma in field. A silver probable Greek Tetrobol from Euobaea of Histiaia, reverse: Nymph Histiaia standing right on galley. Measures c.13mm, weighs 1.60g, very worn. This is from an extensive coinage, the type dating from 340-330 B.C. with numerous later and modern imitations of poor style and rough execution. See BMC Greek, volume 8.
