A damaged fragmentary cast copper-alloy post-medieval strap-fitting: a strap hook with integral loop (17th century AD). This one-piece fitting is moulded at the front and flat the rear. It consists of an oval plate, broken at one end before a collar beyond which a large blunt hook would have been located. Beyond a transverse collar with single groove at the other end is a circular loop, now broken through and with only vestiges surviving. A corroded and damaged cast copper-alloy double-looped buckle frame of post-medieval date, incomplete in as much as it is missing its pin and there is break in the pin bar. The frame is formed of two conjoined ovals such that the sides incurve. The frame is bevelled both internally and externally on the upper surface, the latter far more shallowly. The lower surface is flat. The pin bar has a trapezoidal cross-section and has a lobed knop at each end. The buckle has corroded to a variable mid-green colour. It has been bent and twisted in profile as a result of old damage.

The object is formed from a silver penny of William I (1066-1087) which has been modified into a brooch or badge. The reverse has been gilded, and brooch fittings attached by four rivets arranged at the points of a rectangle. Parts of the fittings survive on the obverse face which has overspill of gilding at its circumference. A hollow cast copper-alloy pommel from a post-medieval sword (c. 17th century AD). The artefact is circular in plan. It is globular with a flared and flattened base. It has a central perforation measuring c. 8.5mm at the base and 5.1mm at the flattened top. The hole at the top was presumably to accommodate a separate finial which is now missing.
