Description by Nicholas Thomas: This is a utilized flake with a retouched edge. The dorsal face shows retouch at the distal end of the right margin. There is use wear all round. The ventral face is clean except for small use-wear scars around the edges. The retouched edge is not visible from this face. The flint is honey brown in colour. It is probably derived from a local beach pebble but this is uncertain with only tertiary cortex. Mercer (1981) illustrates a similar piece on Page 129 Fig 56 Nos L104 which he calls an edge trimmed flake and dates to the Neolithic.

There is fine retouch at the distal end of the left margin. The flint is clear deep grey in colour. It is probably derived from a local beach pebble but this is uncertain with only tertiary cortex. An edge trimmed and notched flake which has been uni-facially retouched and expediently made. The left margin of the dorsal face exhibits partial retouch with a low angle and is of edge type extent. Continuous, low retouch of edge extent is present at the distal end. A single notch has been created midway along the left margin whilst two further notches are present on the right margin. Snapping has occurred at the distal end and left margin intersect. Butler (2005) illustrates a similar example on p131, Fig 55, 4 which dates to the Early Neolithic.

Pottery body sherd decorated with fine comb-impressed dashed lines in two parallel bands, running across the width of the sherd, with two parallel bands at an oblique angle above, running to the upper edge of the sherd. The sherd is made of gabbroic clay, which weathers over the gabbro outcrop on the Lizard in Cornwall. The fabric has inclusions of pale felspars, dark augite and quartz. Description by Nicholas Thomas: This is a utilized chert flake.. The dorsal face has flake scars all over, cortexed at the right edge. There is slight retouch along the upper left edge at the distal end to provide a straight edge. The ventral face is not scarred. The left edge is cortexed. Overall it an edge trimmed flake. The flint is mottled pale grey with darker bands in colour with white cortex. It is probably derived from a local beach pebble but this is uncertain with only tertiary cortex. Description by Nicholas Thomas: This is an irregular flake with a retouched edge. Half of the dorsal face is cortexed. There is retouch along the straight distal margin from the ventral face. There are traces of use wear all round and flake scars all over. The ventral face shows traces of use wear all round the margins. The retouched edge is not visible from this face. The flint is transparent pale grey in colour. It is probably derived from a local beach pebble but this is uncertain despite its secondary cortex. Description by Nicholas Thomas: This is a piercer worked up on the edge of a D-shaped slice from a pebble. The proximal and distal ends are not clean. Most of the dorsal face is cortexed. There is retouch along all but the straight breakage. Ther eis a small sharp, fresh point near the centre of the curved right margin. Most of the retouch to form the point has been done from the ventral face, which shows some scars. . The flint is mottled grey and brown in colour.
