Pottery body sherd made of gabbroic clay that weathers over the gabbro outcrop on the Lizard in Cornwall. The exterior and interior of the sherd have depressions which may have been caused by the erosion of larger inclusions from the matrix rather than being deliberate impressions. The fabric has inclusions of pale felspars and dark augite and is orangey-brown on the exterior and mid-brown on the interior of the sherd. This type of fabric is seen in Grooved Ware vessels, dating from c.2900-2400 BC (Henrietta Quinnell, forthcoming).

Pottery body sherd made of smooth grogged (containing crushed clay) Grooved Ware fabric. The fabric looks polished and baked and it is hard to see any inclusions. It appears to be blackened on the interior of the sherd and a buff colour on the exterior. There are also depressions on the exterior of the sherd which may have resulted from the erosion of inclusions out of the matrix. This type of fabric is most probably Grooved Ware, dating from c.2900-2400 BC (Henrietta Quinnell, forthcoming).
