A post-medieval hammered silver halfpenny from the Canterbury mint. The obverse has a forward facing crowned bust with the letters 'W' and 'A' to either side, probably for Archbishop William Warham. The legend reads: [HDG ROSA] SINE [SPI]. The reverse has a long cross with three pellets in each angle and the legend: [CIVITAS] CANTE[R]. The coin corresponds closely with North number 1816 (though with some differences in the legend), dating it to 1526-1544.
