A fragment of a gold necklace or pendant of Post-medieval date. It is spherical in form, although it is flattened on one side and the is broken towards the middle, most likely due to post-depositional damage. It has a narrow collar at the top of the ball which then flares into a flat top which has an integrally cast circular pendant loop which is flat in section. The spherical surface is decorated with a series of lines running vertically down the surface.
It measures 9.72mm in diameter, 12.93mm in surviving height and weighs 0.68g.

A nearly complete gold object, perhaps a decorative button from a hat or dress, dating to the late medieval or early post-medieval period. It is formed in the shape of a delicate flower with recessed cells representing different segments of the flower. It has six large petals and a large circular centre with a centre-point and a small piece of coiled gold filigree (perhaps cannetille) around its circumference. A slightly bent gold pin. The shaft is a flattish oval in section and tapers from 3.14mm to 1.49mm at the point. The broad end is finished with a simple knop. Below this is a round hole 1.5mm in diameter and an oblong hole 8.50mm long by 1.10mm. 5.12mm further down is a slightly smudged makers mark, stamped onto the metal, in the form of two letters possibly G over W (GW). (This is similar to two other bodkins, made of silver, from Buckinghamshire/Milton Keynes: BUC-6A6E01 and BUC-72A544) The pin is otherwise undecorated.

Description: Gold posy ring, thin flat band with inscription on internal band: god gives increase to love and peace. Traces of a possible maker's mark.
Dimensions: Weight: 1.9g, Diameter (at widest): 18.85mm, Width: 3.30mm, Thickness: 0.57mm
Discussion: In the absence of a datable maker's mark we cannot date this pre-1712. The ring cannot be securely dated to pre-1712 and it as such falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996.

A complete gold posy ring of post-medieval date. The hoop of the ring has been distorted due to its deposition but will have been circular with a narrow D-shaped section. The exterior surface of the hoop is undecorated and the interior is inscribed with the phrase "Patience is a vertue" in italic script.
Dimensions: Weight: 1.17 grams. 22.5mm x 2.6mm x 0.7mm.
Discussion: In the absence of any datable maker's mark we cannot confirm that this is pre-1712 and as such the item does not qualify as Treasure.

A complete post-Medieval gold posy finger-ring (c. 1600-c. 1750 AD). Treasure case no. 2012 T189 (not Treasure).
The hoop is D-shaped in cross-section and plain on the outside. An inscription on the inside reads:
'I Like my choyce'
The letters I and L are capitals and the remaining letters are in lower case. A small punched dot forms an initial mark.

TREASURE CASE: 2012 T170 Post Medieval to Modern gold button
Description: Cast gold circular domed button with flower design. There is a central circular boss with stippled effect, surrounded by 14 elongated petals which are recessed and contain traces of an inlay, which appears to be red in colour. The reverse of the button is slightly hollowed and has a central circular suspension loop. It is 15.10mm in diameter and weighs 2.73 grams.

Post medieval gold posy finger ring, 19mm in diameter, 3mm wide and 1mm thick. The ring is in fair condition and weighs 1.62grams. The ring has a D shaped band and is decorated on two thirds of its outer surface. The central motif is a heart (with traces of black enamel) being clasped by two cuffed hands. Flanking this on both sides is a terminal consisting of a raised lozenge, a chevron and a pointed oval. There are traces of enamel in pale blue red and a greyish colour over all of the decoration. A Post Medieval gold memento mori finger ring dated 1677. The finger ring has a D-shaped cross-section and it is decorated with an engraved skull in part profile. There are traces of black enamel surviving in some of the engraved lines. The inscription on the internal surface reads: "Remember E : H ob.t 16 9br : 77". There is also a maker's mark - a rectangular stamp reading "RM".

Description: Post Medieval gold finger ring. The band is slightly distorted and has a shallow 'D' shaped cross section. The inside is inscribed with "Love as' I or else I die" followed by the makers mark JC within a rectangle. The ring is 20.50mm by 19.29mm in diameter, is 3.70mm wide and 1.13mm thick. It weighs 3.25 grams.
