An unidentified silver object. Treasure case no. 2012 T489. The object is cylindrical with a suspension loop attached at the side. The cylinder has been made from sheet silver, folded to form a cylinder and then soldered along the abutting join. At one end, where it is slightly misshapen, its maximum diameter is 11.36mm and at the opposite end, the diameter is 9.24mm. A worn, slightly scratched, clipped and bent silver hammered penny of Charles I, 1625-49. Obverse shows would have shown a crowned bust left with I behind bust. This 'I' is now the only part of the obverse still visible. Obverse legend reads C[...] M.B.F[...]. Reverse shows royal oval garnished shield. Reverse legend reads [IUST]ITIA THR[ONUM FIRMA]T. Die axis is 12 o'clock, weight is 0.30g, diameter is 14.32mm. See Spink 2007, 42nd Ed. p.272, no.2845. This coin is likely to be a penny with bust, probably group B. No initial mark is visible.

Treasure case 2012 T477: Disclaimed, returned to finder A silver merchant finger ring, Post Medieval date. The ring is complete and is a shallow D shape is section. The band of the ring gradually widens at the shoulders of the bezel which is rectangular. Fragment of a post-medieval silver gilt sheet knife end cap or shoulder mount: Two of probably six faces survive, broken along sides and at one end. One face is decorated with the remains a straight edge with border and an inscription: M ยท he[... reserved on an engraved obliquely-hatched rectangular field. The other face has a possible crude, stylised head and another obscure hand-like figure, on a similarly hatched field. Post-medieval gold finger ring. The hollow hoop, formed from folded sheet, is slightly distorted. An opaque pale blue gemstone en cabochon, perhaps a turquoise, is held within an oval collet by eight small rounded claws projecting from a separate oval rim. The shoulders, the lower ends of which are defined by a chevron of punched dots, are decorated with very finely engraved cross hatching and applied flowers consisting of a sexfoil on a curving stem flanked by two leaves with engraved details.
