An unidentified cast copper-alloy zoomorphic object of Unknown date. It is possible that the find is of Roman date. The object is hollow and is in the form of an animal's head and neck, probably that of a cow or bull. The front of the face is slightly convex and sub-triangular. It has a slightly domed forehead, small semi-circular ears and small horns that curve inwards towards the centre. The eyes are poorly formed and the nose is an elongated triangular shape and terminates with a single sub-circular nostril. There is no indication of a mouth and the chin and cheeks are rounded…

Object type: STRAP FITTING
Broad period: UNKNOWN
County: Warwickshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A cast copper-alloy circular loop of uncertain date. The loop has know datable diagnostic features. It is possibly a strap loop and just possibly a very small finger ring, although the small diameter (external 18.43 mm, internal 13.4 mm) and relatively crude execution perhaps makes this less likely. The loop tapers from 4.56 mm in height to 3.55 mm, and from 3.26 mm thick to 2.6 mm. The outer surface is much abraded and corroded but the interior has a smooth dark green patina.
