A silver Roman coin; a denarius of Domitian (AD 81 - 96), showing Minerva on the reverse. The legends are not entirely legible, so the exact variety is unknown. See Sear Volume I number 2729 onwards. The soil conditions (presumably) have turned the coin orange and the corrosion is unusual.
