A copper alloy probable mount formed from a sheet of copper alloy. The plate is triangular with a rectangular piece of metal projecting from one corner of the shorter edge of the plate. The rectangular piece seems to have broken across a circular rivet hole, but all its edges seem to be breaks. The rest of the short edge of the triangle also appear to be a break. The plate is decorated with a plain incised border line round the triangular area. The metal has a smooth green patina, with some orange (ferrous, but not magnetic) corrosion on the reverse. The triangular plate is slightly…

A cast copper-alloy mount of probable Medieval date, c. 1300-1500. The mount is probably a fragment of a larger object, made from a cast sheet of copper alloy. The remaining portion consists of a cruciform terminal with three fanshaped lobes emerging from the end of a rectangular arm. Each lobe has a triangular projection in the middle of its outer edge, though the projection of the central lobe (opposite the arm) is missing. A copper-alloy hooked mount of Medieval date. The style of this piece can be compared with a common form of harness pendant suspension mount (cf. Griffiths in Clark ed. 1995: 69, nos. 73-75) considered to date from the 14th century. It may have served to suspend a sword from a belt, or had a more domestic function. The attachment takes the form of a vertical bar of triangular section. At the top of the plain middle portion is a pair of transverse ridges with a wide central groove. Above this is a sub-oval lobe with a circular rivet hole. Surmounting this lobe is a vertical p…
