The original form of the object is hard to reconstruct, as it is now bent and broken, with four pieces surviving; some areas are still in places obscured by soil. A Roman cast copper alloy mount, possibly a harness fitting or furniture mount. The mount is in the form of an eagle with the eagles slightly folded outwards with the tips of the wings touching the feet. The head is protruding and facing outwards. Between the feet the eagle has a small spherical ball between which has two lentoid notches which may be intentional or accidental damage. A complete Medieval cast copper-alloy bar mount (c. AD 1150-c. 1450). The central part of this mount is oval in plan, domed at the front and concave at the rear. At each end there is an integral sub-oval terminal, convex at the front and flat at the rear. Each terminal is pierced for a separate rivet. Cast copper alloy mount or possibly lock pin dating from the Roman period, that is c. AD43-410. Only half of the object remains and the edges are worn smooth suggesting that the original break is ancient. The complete head was circular in shape with crescentric moulded grooves and a large lip around the central projection on the obverse. There is another projection on the reverse, but that is far more worn and could have been an attachment loop/shaft or similar.

A cast copper-alloy mount of Medieval or Post-medieval date. It is circular in shape and rectangular in section and has two integrally cast circular rivets on the reverse, both of which are broken. The decoration on the front face is very worn and can not be deciphered, however there is a semi-circular hole with a forked projection. It measures 23.44mm in diameter, 1.80mm in thickness and weighs 4.50g.

A corroded cast copper-alloy post-medieval mount in the form of a Tudor rose. The moulded rose on the upper face in has three layers of five petals around a central pellet. The circumference of the mount has been abraded. Central on the lower surface is a square-sectioned shank, possibly with an abraded tip. A Medieval copper alloy cruciform mount (1066-1500). The mount is flat and made from a sheet of copper alloy. It is in the form of an equal-armed cross where each arm expands towards the end, so that each arm resembles a truncated triangle. In the centre of the object is a raised circular rivet the rear of which is missing. A series of punched dots surround the rivet and border each arm of the cross. Within each cross arm are two grooves mirroring the shape of each arm. The rear of the object is undecorated. The object has a dark green patina and is in good condition.
