Two composite parts of a medieval leather shoe. One piece is the front upper and the other the front sole; the two pieces would have originally been sewn together but the thread has completely decayed. A row of stitch holes are visible on the edges of both parts. The pieces have pointed tips which form the toe of the shoe, and the upper piece has a rounded cut-out to around a leg. The upper piece measures 134.8mm (length) x 90.3mm (width) x 4.9mm (thickness) and weighs 16.17g. The sole piece measures 142.5mm (length) x 81.8mm (width) x 7.2mm (thickness) and weighs 31.88g.
