Pipeclay, glazed or painted, tobacco pipe. Circa twelve stem fragments with paint or glaze near the mouthpiece, as sorted by the finder; five fragments include the mouthpiece itself, of these only two are specially shaped in any way, with slightly ovate sections. These are all associated with narrower wire-drawn bores of circa 2mm or less. Suggested date: Modern, 1800-1900. Weight: 15.25gms.

Pipeclay tobacco pipes. Eleven fragments of lower bowl and stem, as sorted by finder, and held to include makers' marks or other diagnostic detail. That material associated with narrower wire drawn bores - of circa 2mm or less - include the letters E, W (or M), ?F, L, I, B; these are probably of 19th-century date, as is a motif of pellet or dot in a ring. Pipeclay tobacco pipes. About thirty bowl fragments, as sorted by the finder. These include tobacco leaf motif decoration rising up the bowls: examples of vertical fluting on bowls; fishscale patterning; and an armorial shield with three lions. There is one fragment of a red-brown painted pipe. The lower sections of bowl may include some earlier pieces, but at least the more diagnostic upper bowl material is typical of the period 1820-1840. Where wire drawn bores are present, these are usually of circa 2mm diameter. Suggested date: Modern, 1820-1840. Weight: 49.68g.

Pipeclay tobacco pipes. Seven Bowls, from a large group sorted by the finder. All appear to be related to the Yorkshire Bulbous form, with forward angled bowls, a flat oval-ended pedestal foot in six cases, and one with a spur base. The wire drawn bore is usually circa 3mm, though the pipe with a spur has a bore of circa 2.5mm and may be a little later. Suggested date (for the six with flat feet), Post-Medieval, 1660-1680. The other may be of circa 1680-1700. Combined Weight: 60.01g.

Two sherds from pottery vessels of Roman date. They have a combined total weight of 16.82g and date to between the 1st and 4th centuries AD. 1) A rim sherd from a handmade Black Burnished (BB1) ware flanged bowl measuring 40.20mm in width, 15.80mm in length, 16.80mm in thickness (at flange; 5.75mm at wall) and 10.21g in weight. It is of 3rd to 4th century AD date. 2) A body sherd from a coarse grey ware vessel (GX) of probable Roman date, although a later Medieval date cannot be ruled out entirely. It weighs 6.61g and is of probably 1st to 4th century AD date.

A fragment of a Roman ceramic vessel; a body fragment possible from a Central Gaulish colour-coated ware vessel. The fragment is soft, fine pale-buff fabric; slightly sandy and micaceous. Fabric has a well-defined black core sandwhiched between dark grey. Inclusions are generally well sorted and measure <0.2mm in a sparsely micaceous (silver) clay. Only quartz is common.

There appears to be a lighter slip on top of a darker grey fabric.
