A base silver radiate of Gallienus, joint reign, AD253-260 (Reece period 12). Mint is Gaul. Reverse legend reads VIRTVS AVG. Reverse shows Mars/emperor advancing right, holding spear and standard. See Cunetio, p.105, no.130.
Obverse shows radiate and cuirassed bust right. Obverse legend reads GALLIENVS (.P.F.) AVG. Condition is fine. Die axis is 6 o'clock, weight is 2.46g, diameter is 22.05mm.
This is a find of note, this is a scarce type.
