A silver plated contemporary copy of a denarius of Hadrian, 117-138. Mint is uncertain, Reece period 6. Obverse shows Laureate head right. Obverse legend reads HADRIANVS [AVG COS III] P P. Reverse shows Fides standing, holding corn-ears and basket of fruit. Reverse legend reads [FID]ES PVBLICA. Condition is fine, die axis is 6 o'clock, weight is 2.32g, diameter is 18.37mm. A small possible blob or possible cut out bust, probably right, from a coin. This 'blob seems to be formed of base silver. The 'blob' is a slightly matt white metal colour with hints of coppery green showing through as a couple of tiny dots on one side. This item might just be a waste blob formed during production of some other item and it's shape as a bust just fortuitous. Alternatively this 'blob' might have intentionally been cut from a coin to remove the bust from the flan for an unknown purpose. See SOMDOR-DC6398.
