A complete Post Medieval copper alloy hooked strap fitting possibly from a sword belt. This fitting has a flat body that is triangular (kite shaped) in plan, with a lobe at the top. The tapered hook is oval in cross section and is bent in the same plain as the body (turned to the observers left, in the same plane as the body). There are the stumps of two square section iron rivots, one above the other along the central axis of the body. These would have held the fitting to the leather belt. A Post Medieval cast copper alloy asymmetrical buckle with a tinned surface and one rectangular and one D shaped loop. The outer edge of the D shaped loop is slightly narrower and the strap bar is narrowed and the pin is missing. It measures 34.85 mm in length, 23.47 mm wide and 2.73 mm thick. It weighs 4.5 grams. Whitehead (2003) illustrates a similar, simple buckle (p90, no.561) which he dates to c.1575-1700 AD

A fragment of a Medieval (1200-1500) copper alloy chaffing dish. This fragment is from the vessel rim, is dark grey and has been burnished on both sides. The fragment is decorated at the rim by a thin, incised, circumferential line on both sides, whilst the outside also has a circumferential bead with thin groves either side, 9.5 mm below the rim. A complete silver halfpenny of Henry VIII (1509-1547 AD). It is doublestruck, but very poorly, having both moved and rotated between strikes, so the inscription doesn't necessarily follow as it should. The inscription reads, obverse: h [ ] SIE x[ ]INA (the 'x' seems to be combined with an S from the other strike, and the following three letters are pretty much illegible. A fragment from the wall of a Medieval (1200-1500) copper alloy bowl - possibly a chafing dish or cooking vessel. This fragment is from the rim which has a plain top / edge. The outer surface, and the top of the inside surface, have been burnished and is decorated with a pair of thin circumferential grooves 12mm below the rim, and a single cirumferential grove 8mm lower. At a rough estimate the bowl was 9cm in diameter at its top. The side tapers in more abruptly at the bottom of the fragment than at the top, over a distance of 38.6mm, suggesting a depth of 4cm to 6cm. The fragment…

It has a collar close to the head and the stem terminates in a rectangular open box recess. It has a green patina with patches of corrosion, otherwise it is complete and in fair condition. The total length is 54mm, the head is 34mm width and 22mm in depth. The terminal open-ended rectangular box is 11mm x 9mm. It weighs 23.8g.

An almost complete iron patten dating from the Post Medieval period. The hoop is made from a band of iron standing on its side and bent into an oval loop. Although now corroded, and with large amounts of ferrous oxide adhering to it in the form of a light brown crust, the key features of the patten are still discernible. The oval frame has a uniform thickness and width throughout, and both protruding platforms survive to some extent. A post-Medieval, copper-alloy coin weight dating to circa 1690. This is a British weight for the French (½ Louis d'or), or Spanish (1 Escudo) half pistole, (Withers and Withers. Lions Ships and Angels. 2011. 40). The weight is circular and has the same design punched into both the obverse and reverse surfaces. The design consists of a single lis (at 9 o'clock), a letter F (at 12 o'clock) and a letter P (at 3 o'clock) with the figure ½ before it.

A medieval copper-alloy jetton of the Sterling type dating to c. 1280-1340. The obverse has a crowned bust facing similar to coinage of the period. There are two circles which contain a ring of pellets between them. The reverse features a cross fourcheé with several pellets in each quarter. Two circles are divided by a repetitive sequence of O's and I's forming a ring. There is a punch mark at the centre of the reverse. The jetton is in poor condition and worn which negates any further identification. It is 21.27 mm in diameter and weighs 2.19 grammes.

The calibre and weights range from 7.6 mm diameter and 3.3g, to 17.7mm diameter and 23.9g. A few show signs of being fired from a gun with a rifled barrel, and many bear marks sustained by impact. Overall, their combined weight is 1553.2g.
