A complete silver halfpenny of Henry VIII (1509-1547 AD). It is doublestruck, but very poorly, having both moved and rotated between strikes, so the inscription doesn't necessarily follow as it should. The inscription reads, obverse: h [ ] SIE x[ ]INA (the 'x' seems to be combined with an S from the other strike, and the following three letters are pretty much illegible. The reverse reads: TO[R]/(misplaced pellet from centre of coin on other strike) AS/x[C]A[N]/[ ]. A contemporary copy of an Irish silver halfpenny of Edward I, Dublin mint. The coin appears to be made from poor quality silver and is very thin, weighing only 0.39g. The obverse legend appears to be fictitious and the reverse legend reads IVITAS DVBLINIE with the C missing from the beginning of CIVITAS. Contemporary copies of Edward I Irish pennies are known from the UK and the continent but halfpennies are not as common.

A complete Post-Medieval milled tin halfpenny, circa AD1689 - AD1692. This coin, which has a copper core, was issued during the reign of William and Mary, AD1688 - 1694. Obverse description:- conjoined busts right. Obverse inscription:- GVLIELMVS MARIA. Reverse description:- Brittania seated left. Reverse inscription:- BRITAN NIA. The coin measures 29.2mm in diameter, has a thickness of 2.4mm, and weighs 13.0g, and is in fair condition. Ref:- This appears as coin number 3448 in Spink"s "Coins of England & the United Kingdom", Page 336.
