An almost complete iron patten dating from the Post Medieval period. The hoop is made from a band of iron standing on its side and bent into an oval loop. Although now corroded, and with large amounts of ferrous oxide adhering to it in the form of a light brown crust, the key features of the patten are still discernible. The oval frame has a uniform thickness and width throughout, and both protruding platforms survive to some extent. A cast, copper alloy dome-shaped "pimple" button of Post Medieval date. It has a wire attachment loop. The button probably dates from the late 15th or 16th century. It is undecorated except for a prominent, raised pellet in the centre.It is a silver/grey colour and probably has a high tin content. The button is 12.99mm in diameter and 4.83mm thick. It weighs 2.4 grams. Compare to BH-2776F2 and SWYOR-BO99A2.

A copper alloy plate from a small Medieval buckle. It was originally one plate wrapped around the buckle frame and riveted with one rivet at the strap end; this rivet remains in situ.The plates are plain and have a green patina. They are broken straight across where they wrap round the bar. The plate measures 20.91mm long x 9.60mm wide x 1.46mm thick and weighs 1.1 grams. Please see BH-033D57, and HAMP- C340C4 for similar plates and LEIC-9BDOF3 with a buckle attached.

A copper alloy cast rectangular belt mount, of D shaped section with a rivet hole of 1mm diameter towards each end. The rivet holes are wider, as if countersunk, c.2mm, on the reverse face. It was probably used as a belt stiffener. The convex surface is apparently smoothed by wear. The mount tapers from 3.80mm to 4.28mm wide, it is 13.82mm long x I.91mm thick and weighs 1.2g. A similar one can been seen at NLM-EC91BO. Suggested date: Medieval, 1350-1500.

Cast copper alloy strap mount dating from the Post-Medieval period. The object is octagonal in plan and raised in the middle (having slightly chamfered edges). Two oval sectioned tapering integral lugs or spikes project from the reverse of the object; one has broken off at the bend, and the other is complete but bent at 90 degrees in the middle. The mount has probably been fastened to a leather belt or strap and the lugs bent over to grip the leather. It is plain on the front. An incomplete cast copper alloy Trumpet brooch of Roman date. The reverse of the head is concave to accommodate the spring mechanism and has an integral loop to hold the spring. The pin no longer remains. The head itself is trumpet shaped and tapers to form the upper bow which extends to a circumferential collar. Below the collar is an elaborate acanthus decoration followed by a second circumferential collar. An incomplete cast copper alloy buckle of post-medieval date. The buckle has a double loop and is asymmetrical with a narrowed strap bar. The pin no longer survives. The metal is a grey in colour with traces of silvering remain on the surface of the buckle. The buckle is 25.86mm long, 17.20mm wide, 1.9mm thick and weighs 2.6g. A similar example is illustrated in Whitehead, p.90, no.562 and is dated to circa 1575 - 1700. Also DENO-92ECA4 and YORYM-F4BE22

A copper-alloy book fitting; a strap-end of the medieval period. It consists of two plates riveted together, one of which has a die-formed, domed end with a small drilled hole at the front. The strap-end is square at the attachment end, rounded at the free end and waisted at the centre. It has two rivet holes, one of which retains a copper-alloy rivet. Incomplete cast copper alloy Medieval strap end. It is a two plate strapend with two circular rivets aligned along the midline of the plates to the top and bottom. The plates are tongue-shaped with a small flat knop projection from the closed end; the strap end has no further decoration. The two plates are riveted so that there is a narrow V-shaped space between the two with the lower rivet drawing the two plates together and the upper rivet also accommodating the now absent textile or leather strap. Medieval copper alloy strap end, rectangular with rounded terminal. Two sheets joined at the terminal, the remainder left open for the strap. Single rivet hole at the attachment end of the upper sheet. The upper and lower sheets are plain with a nice dark green patina. Length 22.33mm, width 6.93mm, thickness across terminal 2.12mm, weight 0.9grams. Similar period strap ends WMID-CFFOA2 AND DENO-177018. Also similar shaped strap ends can be found at UKDFD-33026, UKDFD-9258, UKDFD-3243 and UKDFD-33346, perhaps being the same design.
