An incomplete copper alloy brooch dating to the Roman period (early-mid 1st century AD). The brooch is an example of a Colchester One Piece type. The brooch is missing the spring mechanism and pin, but the remaining parts of the brooch are complete. The head consists of two equal arms that are sub rectangular in shape and a wide bow that tapers towards the termination. A copper alloy medieval harness pendant suspension mount dating to the period c. AD 1200 - 1400. The pendant has a circular/hexagonal central boss which retains traces of blue, and possibly red enamel in the design of a six-pointed star. Projecting from the bottom of the central boss are two suspension loops which retain the corroded remains of the iron axis bar. Part of a copper alloy Post Medieval buckle probably dating from 1550 - 1650. Just less than half of the frame survives. It is a double looped buckle with vesica shaped loops and trilobed mouldings at the end of the bar and on the outer edge of the loop. The reverse is plain. The metal is red with speckles of a green patina. The pin and plate are missing. Compare examples on page 65 of Whitehead's Buckles.

Incomplete hammered silver coin, probably of Edward I of England as one can make out ANGL on the obverse. Probably North 1023.There is a comma after L which is a characteristic of class 4a. It isjust about possible to make out the start of VILLA on the reverse, so it is probably minted at either Berwick, Newcastle, Bristol, Kingston-upon-Hull or Bury St Edmunds. Based on this the coin probably dates from 1282 to 1289AD. The length is 16mm, and the width is 11mm.

A silver Roman coin; a denarius of Domitian (AD 81 - 96), showing Minerva on the reverse. The legends are not entirely legible, so the exact variety is unknown. See Sear Volume I number 2729 onwards. The soil conditions (presumably) have turned the coin orange and the corrosion is unusual.

A lead alloy spindle whorl dating from the Medieval period. It is plano-convex, one face more steeply angled than the other. The shallow face is decorated with a raised seven pointed star with a pellet in each outside angle. There is also a raised median ridge. The steeper face is decorated with raised radial lines. The central perforation tapers from 10 mm on the shallow face to 9 on the steep face. It is filled with soil and corrosion. The metal has a grey patina.

A Medieval copper alloy gilt horse harness pendant suspension mount dating from the 13th century. It comprises a cast sexfoil mount with a central perforation and a rectangular projection with engraved transverse lines and twin loops at base (one broken) for the axis bar (now missing). The lobes of the sexfoil is demarcated by incised lines containing traces of gilding. The reverse is flat. The metal has a green patina. Compare NMS-B80A63 which also has the matching pendant surviving.
