Three grey ware pottery rim sherds from different vessels. 1) Fine sandy grey ware with mica inclusions. There is a double groove running around the base of the rim. The rim is oval in cross section, with a flattened back edge. The neck extends at a 90 degree angle from the base of the rim. The rim is 16.11mm long, 7.45mm thick. 2) Coarse grey ware, with small flint inclusions throughout. There are several extremely sparce black inclusionsm which are c1-2mm. A cast copper alloy Roman furniture fitting or mount. The mount is bi-conical or acorn-shaped with a flat disk or skirt for a base. On the flat underside is the remains of an iron shank, which appears to continue up through the length of the fitting it the apex, where a hole filled with iron can be seen. It may be that there was another final knop on top of the fitting which is now missing. A number of Roman furniture fittings or mounts are recorded on this database, including 'acorn-shaped' examples, and a given a general Roman date of AD 43-410.

An incomplete cast copper alloy end looped cosmetic mortar, typically dating from the Late Iron Age to the Early Roman period (1st to 2nd Centuries AD). Approximately 50% of the mortar is present, consisting of the terminal end. The suspension loop is missing. The mortar has a plain, relatively shallowed bowed profile. The terminal end of the mortar is plain, without any form of decoration. The mortar itself has a shallow U shaped cross section. A corroded fragment from a cast copper-alloy finger-ring of Roman date. The upper surface of the bezel is of a oval shape which contains two diagonally opposed quarter circle indents. Originally these would have contained enamel. The shoulders taper smoothly into what would have been the hoop, of which the majority is missing. The artefact has corroded to mid-green colour with significant pitting. There is an example of similar type on this database, ref. Half of a glass bead which is opaque, grey blue in colour and of uncertain date, possibly Roman. The bead was sub-spherical but has broken, only one half surviving. It has circumferential lines round it, probably indicating it was made by trailing and then rolling. Some of the swirls are different colours; there are darker grey and white streaks.
