The only detail remaining on the coin is the depiction of a female bust facing right. The up-swept and coiled hairstyle is characteristic of depictions of Faustina I; however, no trace of the legends remain to facilitate a complete identification. In addition to coinage during her lifetime, Faustina I also had an extensive assortment of coinage circulated posthumously in her honor. Cf. RIC III, Plate III.
