A fragment of a copper alloy strip bracelet (or armlet) dating to the late or post-Roman period (4th - 5th century AD). The bracelet fragment consists of part of the band, decorated with ring-and-dot motifs on the outside surface. There is no other decoration. The bracelet has a D-shaped cross section and originally it would have been penannular in form. Similar decorated examples are illustrated in Crummy (1983:46). These examples were recovered from contexts dating from c. AD 320-450; a similar date is suggested for this example.

Fragment of a copper alloy object, possibly a bracelet. The piece is a strip, curved in plan and D-shaped in section with a flat inner side and convex outer. It widens gradually and consistently from one end where there is an old break to the other which appears to end in an original squared off terminal. A lump of iron corrosion on the outer side near the complete terminal may be the result of being near an iron object int he ground or iron pan build up. It is 43.8mm long, 11.2mm wide, 3.4mm thick and weighs 6.34 grams. While the curve and form would be appropriate to a bracelet it…
