Incomplete Roman silver finger ring weighing 7.97g, oval in plan. Approximately a quarter of the D sectioned hoop is missing. The oval bezel is empty as the setting is missing, except for a deposit of white fixative. The shoulders are convex with an arc of patterning made of incised dots and small dashes in two lines curving towards the hoop of the ring, away from the bezel, over the shoulders. They are first struck c. 364 AD and were thought to stay in use possibly as late as the early 5th century getting progressively more clipped. It measures 12.2mm diameter x 0.7mm thick and weighs 0.7 grams.
