A large steelyard weight of composite construction, in the form of an acorn. The weight comprises two cases and a lead filling. The cases form the cup and fruit of the acorn. The cup is formed from a copper alloy which would have appeared yellow. The fruit is formed from a copper alloy with a high tin content and would have appeared grey. The cup is decorated with many random semi-circular punches. There are also short curving lines around the rim of the cup. The rectangular loop is almost worn through.
