A sherd of Alice Holt/Farnham grey ware. Pale buff-grey reduced fabric with abundant, well sorted quartz sand temper. The exterior surface dark grey to silvery grey and has several horizontal and diagonal burnish lines. A body sherd from a jar. The Alice Holt/Farnham industry was active from the 1st to 4th centuries, but the slightly metallic finish suggests this may be the later product of the industry (i.e. after c AD 200 - 250) It is hard fired and wheelthrown.

A sherd of Oxfordshire fineware mortarium. The fabric is hard fired and sandy with sparse small black and red iron ore inclusions, occasional lumps of chalk and is micaceous (Young 1977, 123). It is oxidised orange at the margins with a grey core. The internal surface is covered in rounded pink quartz triturations (up to 2.5 mm). A base sherd. The sherd is abraded. It would originally have been red or brown slipped.

A copper alloy plate brooch. The plate is lozengiform with expanded arms top and bottom. The front is decorated at the centre with a roundel of three concentric recesses separated by metal reserves. At the centre is an iron rivet or similar which is visible at the back of the brooch. One of the arms is decorated with transverse expanded mouldings. Behind this are the remnants of two pierced lugs for the attachment of the missing hinged pin. The other arm is narrower and undecorated with the remains of the small catchplate behind it.

A fragment of an enamelled plate brooch. The plate is axe-shaped. The lower edge of the part representing the axehead is curving and the upper edge is straight. In the middle of the lower edge is a broken rectangular projection representing the handle of the axe. The plate is recessed for enamel with three fields remaining, separated by metal reserves. The outer field, around the edge of the brooch has traces of blue enamel, the curved recess, framing the aperture, has traces of red enamel. The handle is also recessed, but no enamel remains. A figure of a naked male infant with head turned slightly to the right, left arm by his side with the hand resting on his left thigh, his right arm bent across the body with the hand on the centre of the chest. An early Roman copper alloy finger ring with a glass intaglio of Henig Type II dating c. AD 50-150. The hoop is oval with wide, sloping shoulders tapering to a narrow D-sectioned band. One shoulder is decorated with a v-shaped ridge, The other is flattened and damaged.The setting is deep and oval with a large pale green glass intaglio and has a framing line around the base. The intaglio is oval and sits slightly proud of the recess. It appears to be decorated with a stick figure with arms out to the side.
