A complete, probably Roman, cast, copper alloy, simply decorated finger ring. Very small size, probably a child or small ladies finger ring. Semi-circular cross-section hoop with expanded shoulders, narrowing to a transverse ridge, narrowed again, then up to a small oval shaped bezel that once held a small single central stone probably glass. There could be feint zig-zag inscribed lines on both shoulders. The ring shows signs of some wear otherwise an even rusty brown matt coloured surface probably as a result of being found in water logged ground. This ring is likely to date to 43-41…

Incomplete Roman copper-alloy finger ring of Henig type VII dating to the 3rd century. The hoop and half of one shoulder are missing to old, worn breaks and the remaining fragment is badly corroded. The ring has a broad, flat bezel with convex curved sides and tapers evenly in width down the shoulders to the hoop. In the centre of the bezel is a raised oval transverse panel with bevelled sides and evidence of some indents in the flat top, but any design is unclear due to corrosion. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman finger ring. The back of the hoop and the setting are missing due to old breaks, and the edges of the hoop show signs of post-depositional damage and corrosion. The hoop is flattened, oval shaped in section and expands horizontally at the shoulders towards the flattened bezel. Roman copper alloy finger ring with a unusually large expanded bezel, probably a varient of Henig type I. The hoop is 80% missing due to old breaks. The remaining piece is narrow and oval in section, it widens and thickens evenly through the shoulders to the bezel. The bezel is topped by a thickened and widened circular expansion. The bezel is plain on the top apart from two deep circular pits drilled to one side of the centre. It is 3.5mm by 1.6mm at the break on the hoop, 19.9mm by 17.9mm by 12.1mm in total, it weighs 8.02 grams.

An incomplete copper alloy finger ring. The shoulders, bezel and stub of the band remains. The ring is keeled, giving it sloping shoulders . The tapering shoulders are decorated with two ridges running from the bezel to the band. The band is narrow and D-sectioned. The bezel is hexagonal with a raised hexagonal boss. There are traces of incised lines on the top, but it is unclear if these are initials. The inside of the ring is flat and undecorated. Similar to Henig type VIII

Copper alloy and enamel finger ring. Cast ring with circular upright compartment at the bezel retaining brownish traces of an enamel setting; there is a perforation at the back of the bezel. The band tapers from broad shoulders which bear incised paired lines converging from the bezel, and is only 2.7mm wide opposite the setting. Suggested date: Early Roman, 100-200.

A silver ring of Henig type X. D-shaped profile with a wide flattened bezel which tapers gently to a D-sectioned band. The ring is set with an oval translucent orange stone (unengraved), probably a carnelian. Good condition with minimal signs of wear and a patchy dark grey patina. There is slight damage just below one shoulder where a small notch is missing from the side of the band.

A complete cast copper-alloy Roman finger-ring, Henig type VIII (2nd/3rd century AD). It has a flat, rectangular 'bezel', slightly asymmetrical. The bezel and the shoulders are trapezoidal, the shoulders have a flat surface and start 7.7mm wide, narrowing to 6.65mm. The hoop is circular in shape and is quite thick. Sitting on top of the 'bezel' is a raised projection, rectangular with rounded corners; 8.1mm by 4.5mm. The ring is 20.65mm across and 1.7mm thick (4.1mm at the bezel). An incomplete cast copper alloy ring with an inset dark blue glass intaglio. Henig Type III. Although probably Roman in date (c. 43-410 AD), examples of Early Medieval imitations of such rings have also been identified (cf. Crummy 1983, p49, No. 1786). The ring is in very poor condition, with only a shallow oval bezel with raised collar to hold the intaglio and the immediately connected sides of the band intact. A corroded fragment from a cast copper-alloy finger-ring of Roman date. The fragment consists of part of the bezel, shoulders and hoop, with the breaks at the bezel and hoop the result of old damage. is broadly hexagonal in plan. The upper surface of the ring has a large oval recess (W.: c. 10.55mm) which would have taken a setting. The shoulders are slightly bevelled and narrow as they travel down. Copper alloy finger ring. Cast TOT ring. A flat band with convex medial ridge; the ridge has been hammered flat at the bezel, a process which has widened it at this point. A crude border to the bezel comprised two rows of punched dots either side of the relict ridge, the inner dots bearing straight incised tails pointed towards the outer row, possibly essaying a cabled effect.
