A very debased silver sword belt mount dating to the early Post-medieval period. The mount is sub-triangular in plan, the wider end tapering in three sections, each of which is formed of a sub-rectangular area with knopped edges; there are two rivet holes above and below a central circular aperture. Towards the base of the mount, the thinner end, is a bar raised above and laid horizontally across the main body of the mount. This would have formed part of the attachment catch to an opposing mount. This style of mount was popular during the post-medieval period, c. AD 1500-1650.
