One half of an arm of a post-medieval spur dating from the 16th-17th century. Only part of one arm and its terminal survives. The arm is flat oval in cross-section narrowing towards the terminal and curving slightly in profile. The terminal consists of two circular loops with bevelled outer edges. Discussion: This style of terminal appears on a pair of iron rowl spurs excavated in Winchester from 16th and 17th century contexts (Biddle 1990, 1039-41, nos.3868 & 3872), but the type appears to have been used into the 18th century too. Cast copper alloy clothes fastener or dress hook dating from the early post-medieval period, that is circa AD1500-1600. The dress hook is trefoil-shaped thin back-plate cut from a sheet, to which (on the reverse) the flattened base of a hook has been soldered. The edges of the backing plate have been punched to create cusps. The bar loop on the reverse is still in place but the hook is now missing. Cast copper alloy sword belt mount dating from the early post-medieval period, that is circa AD1500-1600. The fitting is almost complete, with only the top missing. Is is roughly triangular in shape with a hook as its terminal: a small bronze ring is still attached to the hook. There are two small rivet holes with remains of the rivets which would have attached the fitting to the leather belt.

Fragment of a cast copper-alloy sword belt hanger, 16th - 17th century. The object is foliate in outline with incised foliate decoration on one side only. There are two rivet holes containing the residue of iron rivets. At the top of the object is a forward-facing close-butted globular-ended hook. See Read (2008), 220, no. 793. A complete cast copper-alloy lock pin of Roman date, c.AD 43 - 410. The lock pin is comprised of a rectangular-sectioned shaft with a circular perforation and a wide, circular head. The shaft tapers slightly from the head of the lock pin to the base. From the widest end of the shaft is an integrally cast collar from which the spindle shaped head extends. The upper face of the head is sunken around a central boss. The metal has a mid greenish-brown colour and is worn. The lock pin is 31.9mm long, 6.3mm wide, 4.5mm thick, 13.8mm in diameter at the head and weighs 8.1g. A similar …

The bell was decorated with the typical petal- or sunburst-design, of which only two or three petal remains in the outside of the upper and lower hemisphere. The bell appears to have broken along the line of the sound holes and the slit, the weakest part of the structure.

An fragment of Roman (AD 100-300) copper alloy spoon, consisting of an incomplete pear-shaped bowl, the 'C' or 'U' shaped joint and the base of the offset handle. It measures 34.36x18.52x9.52mm and weighs 5.3g. The 'C' shaped joint is 9.52mm tall and 3.26mm thick. Less than half the bowl survives (old, worn breaks).
