A cast copper-alloy harness pendant of Medieval date, probably c. 1200-1300. The pendant is largely complete, missing a portion of the very worn suspension loop. The pendant is sub-square in plan with a thick outer edge with moulded notches, creating a wavy, beaded effect. The field is sunken, of 3-4mm depth, with a central, domed square boss. Most of the field retains a veneer of blue enamel, less than 1mm in thickness. The reverse is undecorated. The suspension loop emerges from the centre of the upper edge. The squarish form of the pendant, use of enamel, and lack of hera…

A cast copper-alloy harness pendant suspension mount of the Medieval period, c. 1200-1500. The suspension mount is cruciform with a collared and bell-shaped terminal with a projecting knop at the end of three arms. Each terminal has a circular perforation, with the two side-extending arms retaining the bent nails that attached the suspension mount to the harness strap. The fourth, downward extending arm is shorter in length than the other three and ends with a pair of lugs. An axel connects these two lugs and a third central lug that extends from the fixture to the actual pendant…

A fragmentary harness pendant of Medieval date, c. 1150-1400. Originally, the harness pendant was probably rectangular or shield-shaped, though only a fragment or portion remains, the upper half with its cast integral suspection loop. The remaining pendant has also been folded into an L-shape. The pendant is decorated with three shields arranged side-by-side on a cross-hatched field. The devices on the shield are in low relief, as each shield-shape provided a cell for enamel, now missing. The central shield may bear traces of red enamel.
