A fragment of probably Roman copper alloy object, comprising an ovoid loop max.2.16mm thick and 8.59x6.45mm (internal 4.58x4.02mm) projecting from the centre of the long edge of a horizontal band 11.09x2.70x1.63mm. The opposite edge is a worn break. The band is decorated to one side only with at least one groove along its length (it is possibly broken along the line of another groove), and on the resulting ridge between groove and break, which is triangular in section, are two lines of tiny punches (perhaps circles or triangles, it is unclear). A silver open-frame brooch, oval in plan, its pin missing. The design is zoomorphic in nature, comprising a pair of two-headed beasts. The body of each animal is divided in two by a longitudinal zig-zag groove, the surrounding triangular panels filled with moulded pellets. The majority of the bow has been lost, the break is situated at the tip of the catchplate. In profile, the bow tapers towards the foot, it is broadly semi-circular in cross section. A fragment of copper alloy Trumpet type brooch (1st-2nd century) (Hattatt 2000, Fig. 185-188). The brooch is corroded and incomplete, only a fragment of the trumpet survives. The trumpet is damaged further with corrosion and chips knocked off it. A copper alloy button brooch dating to the later 5th and 6th century AD. The brooch has an upturned rim with a central anthropomorphic face mask. The mask has five vertical grooves representing hair, eyes bound by lines both above and below (eyebrows and cheekbones), and possibly an open mouth. The gilding is mostly complete. The reverse does not retain any gilding and both the pin hinge and catch is fragmentary; the pin is missing. Button brooches with similar designs have been recorded from Chatham Lines in Kent and Abingdon in Oxfordshire.
