A small flat plaque, cast in lead. The plaque is roughly rectangular with one rounded end and a broken end. One face is decorated with a crimped or rope-work border around the edge, and two parallel lines of the same running together down the middle; these two lines branch off into three curls on each side, the curls being made up of pellets in the same way as the borders. The surface is light grey. This may be a moulding from a coffin; it may be either Roman or post-Medieval in date.

An incomplete copper alloy Romano-British trumpet brooch. The foot is missing, as is some of the bow and most of the catchplate. The bow is hemispherical in section with a flat back. The bow is decorated with geometric mouldings above and below the acanthus decoration; the moulding above has the remains of enamelling; some appears red but mainly the colour is uncertain. The bow is straight until just above the acanthus, when it bends to form an angle of slightly less than 90 degrees. Roman Aesica type brooch with spring mechanism. This is cast in two pieces (the upper part of the bow and the foot/backplate/wings) and joined together with two copper alloy rivets which can be seen on the reverse - one through the centre of the brooch (from the central circular feature to the backplate) and the other from the head of the bow to the middle of the wings. Almost complete bone pin of Crummy Type 3. There is a transverse groove below a spherical/globular head with a diameter of 4.73mm. The shaft has a circular section with the tip missing. It is 107.85mm in length. The diameter of the shank is 2.15-2.68mm. The pin weighs 3.48g. See Crummy 1983, page 22 for examples of Type 3 pins from Colchester.

Fragment of bone pin. Only part of the shaft survives and is 45.52mm in length. It is round, but slightly faceted in section. There is a slight swelling at the centre where the diameter of the shaft is 3.90mm. At the ends of the shaft the diameter is 3.18-3.56mm. It weighs 0.88g. Though this pin is unclassifiable and undatable, it is probably Roman.
