A cast contemporary copy, Limesfalsum, of an as of Otacilia Severa (wife of Philip I, 244-9) with a reverse showing a bust of Nero, possibly cast from a coin of Lugdunum. This is a most peculiar piece and appears to have no parallel.

Mint of Rome. RIC IV, pt 3, p. 69, cf. no. 8. It is not clear if this is a plated coin or, as assumed, a base silver coin. The original description mentions another figure on the reverse; does this refer to the Z in the left field?
