A cast copper alloy buckle plate. The plate is sub-rectangular in plan, with one long edge having a central rectangular slot and off-set sides. This edge may have originally formed a fold over the strap bar and the slot was to allow the pin to move on the strap bar. The terminals of the edges on this portion of the plate are abraded and slightly curled. Along the opposite edge there are three rivet holes which have been pierced through to the reverse. A cast copper alloy double looped pointed oval shaped buckle. In plan the buckle is a sub-oval and in profile it is flat. The frame is decorated with a circular perforation either end of the strap bar and at the apex of each loop. The edges of the frame are scalloped. The strap bar is narrowed, and trapezoidal in section. The pin is an elongated triangular which is curled around the strap bar. The surface of the frame and pin have a mid grey/green patina. A cast copper alloy double looped oval shaped buckle. In plan the buckle is a sub-oval and one loop has an integral sub-triangular moulded scallop on the outer edge of the apex. In profile the frame is flat. There is further decoration on each corner of the plain loop in the form of a knop on the outer edges. The strap bar is narrowed, and trapezoidal in section. The frame is oval, and terminates in two moulded animal heads; the frame is worn and the details of the animals is unclear. Post Medieval (1660-1720) cast copper alloy sub-rectangular buckle with drilled frame, for the (now missing) spindle. There is moulded decoration to either side of the drilled holes, and the outer edges of the frame are decorated with 6 grooves. The frame has a dull red-brown colouration. It is 22.2mm long, 15.5mm wide, 4.4mm thick and weighs 2.14 grams.

A cast copper alloy buckle length 32mm, width 39mm, thickness 4mm, weight 8.73g. This would have originally been a double lopped buckle but one frame has been truncated at the base of the strap bar. The remaining loop is D-shaped with a rounded outer edge, slightly concave sides and a cuvilinear moulding along the top and bottom of the frame. The strap bar is narrowed and the pin is missing. This artefact dates to the 17th century.

Cast copper alloy double looped buckle length 29mm, width 37mm, thickness 10mm, weight 11.62g. Each frame is trapezoid with the narrow end in the centre loop the corners on one end of the buckle have two projections with roundel terminals. The centre of the buckle is encrusted in iron corrosion, this is all that remains of the pin. Similar examples have been recorded on the database ESS-040905 and are dated to the 17th century.

Cast copper alloy D-shaped buckle length 15mm, width 21mm, 4mm, thickness weight 3.61g. Narrowed strap bar (2mm diameter) which is flanked by two animal heads, the ears and nose are visible in relief. The forward edge of the buckle is considerably expanded and has an oval cross section (5mm wide, 4mm thick). the artefact is heavily corroded resulting in the loss of all of the detail and leaving a mid brown pitted surface.
