British Iron Age Gold quarter stater of Trinovantes / Eastern Region, struck for Cunobeline, c. AD 10-40. Length 10.2mm, Width 9.5mm, Thickness 2.2mm, Diameter 10.2mm, Weight 1.24g. Relatively red coloured, high copper content gold alloy Cunobeline wild type. Obverse: Corn ear dividing CAM [V], no central stalk only three lines of corn ear CAM[V] with pellet between 'C' and 'A'. Reverse: Celticized horse right with branch above. Possible pellet below or 'C' Camulodunum. [CVN]. Mint Mark:CAM[V]. Mint name:Colchester, Die axis 90 deg.(3 o'clock). The coin shows some wear but no corrosion…
