An Iron Age gold coin; a British North Eastern (Corieltavian) uninscribed stater ("South Ferriby type") dating from c.50 - 20BC. The coin has a diameter of 16mm and weighs 5.6g. There is an abstract wreath design on the obverse, and an abstract horse on the reverse. It is in very good condition. For reference see Van Arsdell 811, Hobbs 3152, and a close parallel with possible die links is number 01.0346 on the Celtic Coin Index.

Treasure case : 2007 T559 A small gold decorated disc. Small gold decorated disc. The gold circular disc was bent over itself so that only approximately two thirds of the original form remained flat. A further smaller distortion was evident at the edge of the disc. There were three concentric rings of circular traces on the disc. These comprised 22 circular traces, 11 circular traces and finally 5 circular traces in the centre. There are few scratches on the objects and no other observable decorations. CURATOR'S REPORT Description of find A square jewel, which is damaged on one corner. It is set with a square, dark-coloured cabochon glass gem set within a multiple frame made up of an upstanding plain rim edged by two rows of beaded wire. The whole is mounted on a square base-plate. Its back is plain but has an elongated metal tab running diagonally from the damaged corner to the mid point. There is a single rivet hole through the back-plate. 2007 T321 The Briish Museum curator report says: "Gold rectangular bracelet slide with remains of enamel on the upper surface, upon which scratches are visible. Three of the edges have engraved decoration in the shape of continuous arches. The two shorter sides have protrusion: one is squashed out of shape; the other serves as a handle for a drawer. This suggests it may have been used as a reliquary or momento mori, more than likely containing hair. The base has been dented slightly, causing the piece to curve. Incomplete gold finger ring, Henig Type VIII, with the inscription 'TOT' on the bezel. The bezel is circular and very worn. The letters 'T' are feint whereas the deeper incised letter 'O' is much more visible. The letters 'T' are depicted as simple straight lines with inward pointing lower terminals. Incomplete bezel from a gold finger ring. The fragment is square and decorated on the surface with a rough lozenge and central line of punched circles. The circles are crudely executed with some overlapping. There is a single punched circle in one of the triangular cells created by the dividing central line, and two or more others outside the lozenge. There are clean cut marks at either side of the bezel where the hoop would have attached, suggesting that the ring was purposefully cut down rather than being the result of breakage.
