A cast copper-alloy medieval bar mount, small and sub-hemispherical in form dating to c. 14th century. The convex, central lobe is crossed by three main neatly incised transverse lines that create ridges. One of the smaller perforated terminal lobes retains a copper-alloy rivet. The reverse is recessed in all three lobes, central and terminal. The mount is 13.97mm long, up to 7.41mm wide, up to 3.25mm thick and weighs 0.95g The object is similar to artefacts illustrated in Read (2001, 23; fig. 12) and Egan and Pritchard (1991, 214; fig. 134) which are dated to the second half of…

Cast copper alloy buckle and pin. Two conjoined loops forming a 'spectacle' shape, outer edges notched which their faces are cut back to emphasise. Simple wrap-around pin. The buckle is now slightly bent so that the two loops do not lie in the same plane. A Medieval copper alloy annular brooch dating 13th - 14th century. This ring brooch is hexagonal in plan with a circular central edge. This inner circular edge is decorated with diagonal stamped lines, creating a rough, twisted rope motif. There are raised pellets spaced equally along the edge which form a pair with pellets on the outer edge. These pellets divide the brooch into sections which fall in the middle of each of the straight edges of the hexagonal outer edge and they correspond with large rounded knops which project from the centre of the outer edge in the middle of each of…

Remains of a cast copper alloy buckle, originally D shaped but more than 50 percent missing. Off-set bar, thickened front face around the centre of which is a 4.4mm wide, sheet metal roller marked with two incised lines, one of which appears to be made up of a line of cuts. In London buckles of this form occured in contexts with associations ranging in date from 1230 to 1400 (Egan and Pritchard 1991, Nos. 293, 301, 317).

Cast copper alloy buckle, oval with an integral plate in the form of two prongs. At the end of the hoop is a short projection opposite to which is a notch between the two prongs which would have accommodated the pin. Finds from London suggest a late 14th-15th century date for buckles of this form (Egan and Pritchard 1991, Fig. 49). Interestingly, this buckle frame is unfinished with casting flash along the mould joint-line.

Cast copper alloy buckle, oval with a diamond-shaped section. Bar off-set, round-sectioned bar its ends flanked by neatly moulded projections. Front of buckle thickened and marked by two deep mouldings each containing a transverse rib, central notch for the pin. This decoration is present on both faces of the buckle. The pin is present and made from round sectioned wire, flattened where it encircles the bar. In London buckles of the type have been found in 13th century contexts (Egan and Pritchard 1991, Fig. 44).
