Both sides bear an identical legend: S D / 6:9, standing for 6 shillings and nine pence; the finder suggests this represents one third of a guinea, and suggests a date of 1765 for this object. An incomplete cast copper alloy Early-Medieval stirrup terminal of the Anglo-Scandinavian period dating to the 11th Century. The terminal depicts a beast's head with lozengeform eyes and a long snout. Above the snout are two parallel raised bands. The zoomorphic terminal is roughly D-shaped in section with a hollow slot which is filled with the remains of the iron the stirrup arms. A pair of such stirrup terminals would have been attached to the bottom corners of a stirrup, where they would have served to hold together the horizontal and near vertical arms. A crudely cast, lead alloy die. The numbers are indicated by circular pits. The sum of the dots on opposing sides is not seven, as in regular dice, but 4, 7 and 10 respectively (1 & 3, 2 & 5, and 4 & 6), suggesting that it may possibly be of Roman date, 43-410AD. Egan in Finds Research Group Datasheet 23 suggests that medieval and later dice are usually of the regular layout. Alternatively, it could be a home made irregular die of later date. Compare SWYOR-13BAF7, IOW-F6ADA3, HAMP-1FD124,LEIC-5721E8, SWYOR-0B2B80 and LEIC-8806C0.

An incomplete medieval to post medieval copper alloy douple-looped buckle, missing its pin. The buckle is crudely cast; it has bevelled outer edges on the upper and lower surfaces but the thickness of the frame is uneven and it has in places twisted. It measures 27.4mm (length) x 27.1mm (width) x 3.5mm (thickness) and weighs 3.34g. Whitehead (1996, 52-53) dates undecorated double-lopped buckle to c. 1350-1650 AD.

An abraded base sherd from an open Roman greyware vessel, possibly a large beaker. The circular pad is 44.6mm in diameter. The sides curve out from foot and have been broken at a point at which they are still curving. Both internally and externally there are concentric lines and ridges from wheel throwing. Just before the break is the beginning of a zone of external decoration in the form of fine diagonal incisions. The fabric is fairly fine and sandy. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman nail cleaner. The attachment loop is set at 90 degrees from the plane of the shaft. The top of the loop is curved and the external loop diameter is 5.37mm. The perforation in the loop is sub-circular veering towards sub-square with a diameter of 1.84mm. The attachment loop rises directly from the top of the shaft but is angled so that one side of the artefact lays flatter against a flat surface than the other side. A copper alloy Colchester derivative Polden Hill (flat wing ends type, Midlandf Mackreth 2011, Chapter 3, Part 3, CD PH3, dating AD 80-120. The brooch is incomplete; most of the bow is present as are the wings, but the foot of the bow and catchplate is missing, as is the coiled spring and the pin. There is minimal decoration on the bow that consists of several horizontal line across the top of the bow only.

Rectangular plate of this stamped metal with an embossed concavo-convex design comprising a lettered border, now illegible; an equilateral cross with the ends of its arms distinguished, perhaps as a compass rose; and a central round panel with a lion walking left with forepaw raised. One corner is lost, and the convex face has been highly polished by the finder. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1700-1800. Length: 17.6mm, Width: 17.5mm, Thickness: 0.6mm, Weight: 1.44gms.

Late Bronze Age gold pendant: one end of a slightly bent round-sectioned shank has been hammered into a D-sectioned loop, while the other expands into a conical terminal on which another object may have swivelled. Formerly described as probably Roman, it has been reassigned, by Caroline Barton and Ben Roberts of the British Museum, to the Late Bronze Age on the basis of its similarity to a copper alloy example in the Boughton Malherbe (Kent) hoard (PAS KENT-15A293). Length 34mm. Width of loop 5.5mm. Diameter of shank 2 - 1.5mm. Diameter of terminal 3mm. Weight 1.89g. 9th century BC.
