An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative double pierced lug bow brooch. It is missing most of the pin due to old breaks but is otherwise largely intact. The wings are semi-cylindrical in form with possible vertical mouldings on their front faces, the precise form uncertain due to the preservation of the object. They are separated at their centre by a rear-facing double pierced lug that holds in place a separately cast copper-alloy spring of 12 coils, axis bar and spring chord, the latter now in two joining fragments due to post-depositional damage.
