A cas copper alloy Roman bow brooch fragment, Colchester derivative type. 43-100 AD. It consists of the wings and upper bow only, the coil, pin and catch-plate are missing. The wings are shallow and not quite semi-cylindrical, and are decorated on the outside with several bands of transverse mouldings. The bow has a central longitudinal panel of moulding and is incomplete at the foot because of old breaks. The reverse side of the bow has a hollow channel. The brooch fragment measures 28.23mm in surviving length and is 29.19mm in width across the wings. It weighs 8.05g.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman bow brooch of Hod Hill type. Part of the hinge and the top of the bow are present, the rest missing due to old breaks. The bow is rectangular in shape and tapers slightly towards the foot and is flat in section. It is decorated with a wavy rib down the centre with a row of pellets to each side. There is a rasied rib at each edge. It measures 31.51mm in length, 10.29mm in width, 2.34mm in thickness and weighs 3.02g.
It is similar to examples published from Hatcheston (Blagg et al, 2004, nos 23 and 29).
