A copper-alloy Roman As. Eagle on globe (head right) type struck for Vespasian in the period AD 72-3. Probably struck at the mint of Rome but it may have been struck at Lyon. Obverse is laureate head right. Reverse is an Eagle on globe, facing right and flanked by the letters [S] and C. As RIC II, no. 528 (although cf 747).Diameter 25.83mm, 9.53g.

A plated silver contmeporary copy of a Roman denarius of Divus Vespasian, issued under Titus (AD 79-81), probably dating to the period c.AD 80-81 or later (Reece period 4). TRI POT reverse type depicting Vesta seated left holding simpulum. This coin is a contemporary copy combining an obverse of Divus Vespasian, c.AD 80-81, with a reverse type from a lifetime issue of Vespasian, dating to the period c.AD 71-73 (cf.
