The object is a body fragment from a crucible which David Symons (Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery) suggests possibly dates to the 15th to 17th centuries, or Late Medieval to Post Medieval. The object is ceramic and is incomplete.
The material has a light pinkish-red internal face, with a dark pink-red centre and a dark grey outer surface. It is also very hard and brittle which suggests that the object has been heated at a very high temperature, either over or in a fire. Early- to Mid-Iron Age, two rims and thirty-nine body sherds of shelly eathenware with calcarious inclusions. The two rim sherds are straight sided with no separate rim, which is decorated with finger nail impressions on the top edge.
The fabric is orangely brown, dark brown and grey brown in colour with large white calcarious inclusions. The largest fragment measures 58x50x12mm and the smallest 16.5x12x5.5mm. The pieces collectively weigh 406.44g.

Wheel thrown base of a samiamn ware vessel, diameter 61mm, thickness 5mm, height 22mm, weight 29.59g. this is the base of a bowl with an expanded pedestal in the centre of the base, the diameter at the base of the bowl is about 51mm, but all of the walls of the bowl are missing. In the centre of the inside of the bowl is a stamped decoration of an eight petaled flower. The overall condition is poor with most of the reddish/orange slip worn away, the top section of the bowl is missing and the pedestal is damaged.

Two joining fragments of the base of a Delftware charger. There is one pierced hole in the base ring. The decoration on the upper surface is of a central double rosette with sprigs of foliage and semi-circular swags containing solid ovals. Tin-glazed earthenware, with blue on off-white background. There appears to be a mark or signature on the base but this is indistinct.
