The coin surfaces are heavily worn and corroded, but the size of the flan and the remaining detail on the obverse suggest that it is possibly a Sestertius of Nero. The coin measures 28.8mm diameter by 3.2mm thick and weighs 16.49g.

Roman sestertius struck in copper alloy. The coin is completely worn and is red-brown in colour with patches of green corrosion. It has a diameter of 28.9mm and is 3.99mm thick. Sestertii are common finds in Britain and date from circa 50AD to 260AD, however they are particularly common from the 2nd century.
