Roman Aesica type brooch with spring mechanism. This is cast in two pieces (the upper part of the bow and the foot/backplate/wings) and joined together with two copper alloy rivets which can be seen on the reverse - one through the centre of the brooch (from the central circular feature to the backplate) and the other from the head of the bow to the middle of the wings. An incomplete post-medieval hooked tag. The trefoil plate had an integral triangular loop. Two of the trefoil petals are openwork and there is a flower at the base of the triangular loop. The hook is incomplete. The surviving length of the hooked tag is 28.8mm, the width is 17.2mm and the weight is 1.61g.

There is a backward pointing hook to hold the chord – there is a shallow, wide groove across this, then the hook extends a short way down the bow, as a slightly raised central rib. Fragment of pin, probably copper alloy. Part of what is probably the lower shaft, which is roughly circular in section with a diameter of 2.16-2.66mm. There are traces of pale green staining at the breaks, but otherwise the patina is dark brown and even. It is 30.63mm long and weighs 0.77g.Though unclassifiable and undatable, it is probably Roman.

Incomplete copper alloy pin, Cool Type 10 sub-group A. It has a bi-conical head, which has a slightly raised central apex on the upper part and four incised grooves on the lower part. There are also at least two short grooves at the base of the apex. The pin is 50.16mm long and weighs 1.63g and the shaft is 2.55-2.65mm in diameter. The shaft and head are mottled cream/dark grey, with a chalky/powdery feel. At the break on the shaft there is a very narrow copper alloy core 1mm in diameter and pale green staining at the break. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman Langton Down type bow brooch. The incomplete cylindrical head houses a spring mechanism. The spring is now corroded and the pin is missing. The slightly arched bow diminishes to a blunt foot. The bow is decorated with a median rib with a smaller rib either side. The catchplate is missing. The surviving length of the brooch is 36.5mm, the width is 13.0mm and the weight is 7.07g.

An incomplete copper alloy Romano-British trumpet brooch. The foot and catchplate are missing, as is most of the bow below the acanthus moulding. What is left of the bow is hemisperical in section (flat on the back) and decorated with the start of the acanthus moulding. Above the acanthus the head also has deocrative moulding, and also enamelling, with two surviving panels of blue enamel. The head flares out in the trumpet shape, and is hollow.
