A cast copper-alloy mount in the shape of a forward facing angel, measuring 43mm in height and 39mm in width. The angel is quatrefoil in overall shape and has two projecting parallel wings. The front face is decorated with grooves. These help to depict a halo with small diagonal lines on it surrounding an oval shaped face. The eyes, nose and mouth are clearly visible. Around the neck a collar is depicted and the figure is wearing a long robe with grooves representing the folds in the cloth. The head is slightly flattened in form and the features are stylised, with deeply set eyes, ears and mouth. The upper part of the body is rectangular in section and tapers upwards towards the neck. It is shaped like a scallop shell and decorated with an incised pattern. A copper-alloy buckle of probable mid 13th to early 15th century AD date. The object is damaged and incomplete. It has a D-shaped loop measuring 18.4mm high by 17mm wide. This is still attached to the plate but has been bent backwards. A corroded remnant of an iron pin survives. The plate is rectangular and has been bent around the bar. Only one half survives intact. It measures 30.7mm long by 9.6mm wide at the narrow end (ie. that furthest from the loop) and 0.2mm thick.
