The object is an incomplete cast copper alloy side looped and socketed spearhead of probable Middle Bronze Age date (1500 - 1150 BC). The spearhead is an elongated sub-triangular shape in plan and the blade in section is a sub lozenge shape. The socket in section is a sub-circle. The upper most tip of the blade has broken off, and is missing. The break is not a recent break. In profile this portion of the blade is bent slightly due to damage. A complete folded copper alloy handle brace/ escutcheon probably from a cooking vessel, dating from the 14th-17th century AD (length: 48mm; width: 56.8mm; thickness: 6.2mm; weight: 26.57g). Of a trapezoidal form, at the widest end, the corners are folded over with a stretched and elongated rivet hole in between (length: 12mm; width: 6.9mm). The rivet is now missing. An incomplete cast copper alloy scabbard chape, dating to the 15th/ 16th century (length: 36.9mm; width: 29.7mm; thickness: 5mm; weight: 7.03g). This chape is of the separate back-plate type, and only the decorated front still remains. The top edge is serrated with an openwork cross just below. There are transverse ridges radiatting out from underneath the cross. The basal knop at the bottom of the artefact is present, but corroded. The object is a button made from cast copper alloy. This type of button dates to the early Post Medieval period. Egan illustrates a similar shaped button but made of lead/tin (No. 1377), which dates to the 13th century. However the recorded button is more likely to be of a Post Medieval date, 16th to 17th century, as it has been cast in one piece and is made from copper alloy. The head of the button is biconvex, and undecorated. Protruding from the head is an integral shank with a worn loop at the terminal. At one end, the artefact looks liek a possible handle with a conical hollow curve thinning towards a point and a knobbed end as the tip. Below this conical curve, there is a prominent ridge protruding out from most of the artefact.
