Tertiary chert waste flake. Mid grey-brown chert with white flecks. Matt patina. A small striking platform can be seen at the proximal end. and there are waves of percussion on the ventral surface. The dorsal surface has three main elongate, longitudinal flaking scars indicating that it is the result of bladelet production. There is some edge damage along both sides where the darker colour of the underlying chert can be seen (this indicates that the damage is more recent). Late Neolithic to early Bronze Age.

A tertiary flint waste flake measuring 25.8mm by 22.83mm by 7.81mm and weighing 3.57g. The striking platform is visible at the proximal end, with the bulb of percussion, a pronounced bulbar scar and slight ripples on the ventral surface. There are several flaking scars on the dorsal side. The flint is dark grey-black with a mid gloss patina. This object may be a late Neolithic or early Bronze Age waste flake, but one of the flaking scars, which is steep and perfectly flat, may indicate that the flake was a by-product of gun flint manufacture in more recent times.

Fragment from the butt end of a knapped, ground and polished axe head of probable later Neolithic date (2900-2100 BC). The axe is knapped from a mid grey volcanic tuff. This rock type is formed from compressed volcanic ash that is found in Britain in a band that runs from the Lake District (the Langdale's source Group VI), through North Wales (Graig Lwyd Group VII), and into Cornwall and Devon (Groups XVI and IV respectively). Volcanic tuff is similar to flint in that it can be flaked, ground and polished. This fragment is irregular in plan and sub-oval in cross section. It measu…
