Three vessel sherds of medieval pottery, possibly coal measures orange. The fabric is fairly coarse with small dark inclusions of coal and grit. The inside of the fabric on two sherds is slightly grey in colour which is a result of the firing technique. One sherd is diagnostic - part of a rim sherd. The outside of the clay is orange in colour. The pieces have a combined weight of 51g.

Five small vessel sherds of medieval pottery known as Humberware. The fabric is fine and mid grey colour with no inclusions (depending on how the pot was fired, the unglazed area is sometimes orange). The outside of the sherds have an olive green glaze and are decorated with incised lines around the circumference of the vessel. This type of pottery was produced at a number of production centres including Cowick and Holme on Spalding Moor and was manufactured from the late 13th century until 16th century. This type of pottery was largely utilitarian and functional.

The sherds are unglazed. This type of pottery was produced at a number of production centres including Firsby, Doncaster area and was manufactured from 13th-14th century. This pottery was largely utilitarian and functional.

Measures 63.65mm x 39.66mm, maximum thickness 10.86mm. 2) Rim. Grog and shell tempered. Measures 45.28mm x 23.53mm; thickness 8.57mm. 3) Base. Grog tempered. Measures 40.09mm x 27.94mm; thickness 6.63mm. 4) Body. Grog tempered. Measures 39.91mm x 26.73mm; thickness 10.35mm. Total weight: 60g

The larger body sherd has been misfired and oxidised to an orangey-red. 1 rim sherd from a jar (very everted - late Roman). 1 rim sherd from a flanged bowl (the rim protrudes very slightly above the flange - early Roman). 2 undiagnostic body sherds. Handmade. All the sherds are abraded.
