Fragment of copper alloy pin. Very narrow circular-sectioned shaft with regularly-spaced transverse notches along the existing length of one face of the shaft. Mid grey with occasional patches of bright green corrosion. It is 38.52mm long, has a diameter of 1.05mm and weighs 0.21g. Slightly pitted surfaces, some bright green corrosion within some of the notched decorations. No parallel could be found for this pin with its very narrow shaft and unusual regular decoration along its length, in Cool’s typology (1990) or from the Colchester report (Crummy 1983).

Unidentified object or possible hinge. Copper-alloy object, now rather corroded. It is basically flat and rectangular, 43 x 20 mm, and broken at one end. A groove runs along either long edge, and the front is divided into three fields by two longitudinal ridges, each of which is transversely ribbed on the top. The ridges and grooves run up to a pair of hinge loops at the complete end, apparently cast into shape onto the front of the object. The fragment is of fired clay, which does not appear to be a vessel. The exterior surface is relatively smooth, but all over the fragment there are possible vegetation impressions. The fabric is dark grey throughout, and is fine in its composition. It weighs 43g.

An incomplete worn copper-alloy unidentified object. Rectangular in shape measuring 50mm in length and 10mm in width. Only one longitudinal edge appears to be complete and this is thicker than the other worn incomplete edges. This edge is also very slightly curvilinear. To little of this object survives to identify it, there is a possiblity it could be a cast copper-alloy vessel rim fragment but this is by no means certain. Its date is also unknown.

Lead alloy ingot - other associated finds of a late medieval/ post medieval date - otherwise date unsure. It is roughly circular and peaks in the middle of one side where it is 63mm thick. At the edges it is c.15-30mm thick. The ingot is flat on the reverse side but broken towards the edges giving it a 'dished' appearance. It measures 234x194mm. There is mud and iron corrosion adhering to the outside surface but where the ingot has recently started flaking at the edges, it is very obviously lead. Weighs 8.5kg (to nearest 0.5kg).

A fragment of an antler, incomplete due to old breaks at both ends. It measures 72mm in length and 28mm in width with a thickness of 14mm. This antler fragment does not appear to have been worked and is likely to just be a stray loss, however, it could be a by product of antler working, or have been lost before it was worked. Therefore it is recorded in case any other antler fragments worked or otherwise are found on this site in the future.

A probable fragment of a cast copper-alloy casting sprue or jet. It is flat and oval in shape, measuring 19mm by 18mm in size, with a rough upper surface and a cylindrical incomplete shaft projecting from the centre of the underside, 7mm in length and 6mm in width. The date of this metal working is unknown as it could be Bronze Age or later in date.

Unidentified incomplete copper alloy object of unknown date, possibly a utensil. Length 64mm, diameter of shank, about 2mm. Weight 2.18g. The object consists of a shaft which is sub-circular in cross-section and it is bent at an angle of about 180º so that two sections of it are roughly parallel. At on end there is a flattened point. The other end of the object is flared and terminates with an old break. At the junction of the shaft and the flared end there is s small swelling. No evidence of decoration on the reddish purple metal which has a superficial deposit of copper carbonate.…

An unusual unidentified object with an incomplete corroded iron shaft which runs through a copper-alloy head, which tapers to a point and is arrow shaped with four evenly spaced projections, each with a triangular cross-section. It measures 20mm in surviving length and 15mm in width and 12mm in thickness. There are small diagonal grooves running down the edges of each projecting part. No parallel could be found for this object and its date is unknown.

Unidentified cast copper alloy object of unknown date. Length 15mm, width 21mm and 5mm thick. Weight 0.60g. In plan, the object is roughly semi-circular and largely symmetrical. Each curved edge, adjacent to the straight side, has a slight protrusion which has a transverse groove, about 1.5mm in width. Near the centre, when viewed in plan, is a circular perforation. Beneath a pale green corroded patina, the metal is a reddish brown colour.
