A Roman sestertius of Lucius Verus, co-emperor to Marcus Aurelius. The coin is quite worn and the legend and reverse are not easy to make out, but it appears that the reverse depicts a defeated enemy, probably Parthia, seated right at the foot of a trophy, reflecting the victories in the East. The coin is therefore likely to be R.I.C number 1440, minted in Rome between 165 and 166 AD.
