Possible iron mount. The object is well worn but has a moulded decoration on on surface, consisting of two plant stems, one of which has two further shorter curls of foliage coming off it. The sides of the object that compliment the curls of the foliage appear to be original, whereas the sides that transverse the motifs are breaks. The reverse is irregular, corroded and worn and shows no signs of attachment.

Medieval strap type casket mount. Triangular sectioned bar broken at one end, collard at other before flat, pierced fleur d’ lis terminal. Very similar to a 13th century example from London (Egan, 1998, 73, fig. 50, no. 147). At least 67mm long, bar width 9mm, maximum terminal width 17mm.

A medieval finger-ring, much distorted and recently repaired. It consists of a simple, flat, tapering band with a plain back and a front decorated with panels of stippled ornament. The shoulders each bear a simple cross and the centre is engraved with a lozenge. The recesses of the design were probably originally filled with niello, some of which appears to survive in the central panel. The finger-ring is silver and dates from the twelfth century. Silver thimble, with open top (probably made in two parts and top lost) and only slightly sloping sides. There is a wide plain band at the bottom with two horizontal lines and the inscription ('Be true' followed by a heart) between them. The holes are fine, quite regular and almost square. A heart-shaped pattern has been made in the area of the holes on two opposing sides, with a plain band between two incised lines. On the interior is a small spiral mark, possibly a maker's mark.

The object is an incomplete Colchester Two-Piece brooch of Headstud type. These types of brooches are thought to date to the Roman period or 1st-2nd century AD. It is made of cast copper alloy and is incomplete. In plan, at the top of the brooch are two integral protrusions placed at alternate angles to one another. The protrusions are the remains of a suspension loop (not recent break) which is now missing. The wings are short, double stepped on the front and are sub-square in cross-section.
